1212 Village Coming to Del Paso Boulevard

A new mixed-use affordable housing project is on the horizon for Del Paso Boulevard, the early twentieth-century historic main street in the North Sacramento neighborhood.

In partnership with Volunteers of America, Mogavero Architects has designed a four-story, 75-unit development at 1212 Del Paso Blvd to be named 1212 Village. It will be the first major new construction investment on the Boulevard in several decades and thus will be transformative socially and economically.

The project will provide a new housing opportunity for 75 families that have incomes of less than 80% of the area median income. Future residents will enjoy amenities such as a community space, computer lab, and an outdoor courtyard with a playground. Additionally, the project will be integrated into the existing neighborhood by featuring ground-floor retail space.

The project has been designed with one eye on the historic context of the neighborhood and the other on the community objective of establishing a precedent for scale and character of future development on the Boulevard.

After completion, 1212 Village will continue to be managed by Volunteers of America’s Northern California/Northern Nevada branch who will offer community resources such as financial literacy classes and other services.
