This week marked the groundbreaking for our Droge on Van Ness project in downtown Fresno. The celebration involved demolition of an existing building to make room for the new, four story mixed use building which will contain 45 apartments over retail, parking and residential common areas. Fresno Housing Authority Executive Director, Preston Prince, Fresno Housing Authority Director of Development Michael Duarte and I had the opportunity to take part in the demolition, knocking down a brick elevator shaft . It was really cool operating the ‘claw’ and grabbing at chunks of brick and rebar – and seeing how just one strand of rebar could hang onto a huge chunk of brick!  After spending my entire career helping buildings go UP, it was fun helping one come DOWN!

Construction will begin this summer!
