The Housing Authority of the County of San Joaquin (HACSJ) and the Central California Housing Corporation (CCHC) held an official groundbreaking ceremony last week to commemorate the first phase of construction on the Sierra Vista Homes redevelopment project designed by Mogavero Architects.
Sierra Vista I is the first of a multi-phase redevelopment of the Sierra Vista Homes public housing community located on 53 acres in South Stockton. The HACSJ, through its nonprofit, Delta Community Developers Corporation, will serve as co-developer with CHCC, a leading Central California based affordable housing developer.
Conveniently located near schools, jobs, transit, medical services, grocery and recreation, the redevelopment will include 115 new one, two, three and four bedroom energy efficient units, as well as a large community center with a pool and open play areas nestled throughout the site to encourage interaction between families, young children and older generations. Construction is expected to be complete in early 2019.
Mogavero Architects is excited to be a partner on the redevelopment team for San Joaquin County’s oldest multi-family public housing community.
