Job: Bookkeeper/Accountant

Mogavero Architects has an immediate opening for a Bookkeeper/Accountant to work with our Controller in all areas of financial reporting and bookkeeping for our 35-person architectural firm. Our firm has a strong environmental focus and a commitment to designing urban transit-oriented, ecological projects. We have a diverse portfolio of work including multifamily residential, university and institutional projects and are committed to creating architecture that elevates the human experience. We seek an accounting professional with experience in the professional services industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Provide support to the Controller in day to day accounting operations.
 Perform bookkeeping responsibilities and tasks including A/P, A/R, journal entries and reports.
 Support Controller with monthly billing and coordinate collections with client counterparts.
 Reconcile accounts including bank, credit card, and vendor.
 Collecting and organizing invoices and checks.
 Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll.
 Reconcile and pay monthly benefits and section 125 plans.
 Bank deposits and reconciliation.
 Maintenance of project accounting system.
 Filing
 Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

 Minimum of 3 years accounting experience within architecture, engineering, construction or professional service industry.
 Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
 Proficient Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
 Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast paced environment.
 Ability to work in a team environment. Research questions/issues as requested by staff and principals.
 Hands-on knowledge of Deltek or other A/E project accounting software a plus but not required.
