Judges for the 2014 Gold Nugget Awards have named Mogavero Notestine Associatesas an Award of Merit winner in its annual competition, which honors architectural design and planning excellence and draws entries from throughout the United States and internationally. Mogavero Notestine Associates earned its Merit honors for Maple Park, which was honored for Best Affordable Project 30 to 60 du/acre. Awards were announced on June 26 as a feature highlight of PCBC®, the nation’s largest regional conference and trade show for the real estate and development field.

Maple Park is a pedestrian-focused safe haven for families and kids who can freely run and play. Cars are tucked away behind and underneath the buildings. The main road is a narrow one-way loop road that helps to slow traffic and keep the neighborhood quiet and calm. This project, now the tallest building in rural Live Oak, holds a unique urban presence just a few blocks from the downtown area, and is instrumental in improving access to affordable housing for families.

While a true honor, these awards are just icing on the cake when compared with the satisfaction of seeing the kids enjoy the play structure in the beautiful, safe neighborhood our team was able to create.
