Mogavero Architects is proud to be working with Mutual Housing California to design Sacramento’s first LGBT-friendly affordable senior housing development. Located in vibrant Midtown — close to transit, downtown and nearby Lavender Heights — Lavender Courtyard by Mutual Housing will provide 50+ energy efficient residential units for an aging population often displaced by rising housing costs and all too often marginalized in mainstream senior facilities.

Is this much needed project still a go?
We hope so! This is a much needed project that is still pending funding. Thanks for your inquiry.
I’d like to apply for this project, when it is completed of course… Do you have an ETA for it?? I would need a wheelchair accessible unit…
I served on the LGBT center board from 1998 through 2005, and we spoke often about such a project for queer seniors….Now im realizing the extreme importance of such a project, since while living at a (market rate) SHRA development downtown, I have been harassed, sexually and otherwise, bullied, and am now being bullied by SHRA itself, thus I filed a complaint with the State of Cal DFEH and AG to protect myself from SHRA’s predations…. I just need to find some place to be safe and to quietly enjoy…. Thank you for any information you can provide….
